IGN has offered up a variety of photos taken on location in Illinois where Zack Snyder's new Superman adventure, Man of Steel, is shooting. The impression one gets is that Clark Kent's home town will play a significant role in the film.
THE CRATER
This is purported to be the crash sight of young Kal-El's space ship following his long journey from Krypton. It's this location that Jonathan (Kevin Costner) and Martha (Diane Lane) Kent discover the child within the wreckage.
Metropolis has The Daily Planet while Smallville has its Sentinel, as this truck cruising down a highway reveals. Not sure if the paper will come into play story-wise.
STAIRS TO NOWHERE
The green stairs on the back of this truck imply that they'll somehow be involved with visual effects. One rumor is that these will lead out of the vessel in which General Zod will arrive on Earth. If true, this would certainly be an intriguing change in what we've seen before in that Zod would not be escaping from the Phantom Zone, but, instead, is arriving via vessel.
I hate this cavil guy! He said in one of his interview that he wasn't excited about Superman and thought the character lacked depth. He doesn't deserve to be Superman. Christopher Reeves was the best. He pasted the torch to Tom Welling, and he should be doing this movie. I don't wish people to die or harm usually but I wish cavil would get maimed a little bit, just enough so he couldn't do this movie. Seriously.
