Writing for New Zealand’s The Press, Gerard Campbell says of the Xbox 360 game Vampire Rain, “Vampire Rain is probably best described as a poor man's Splinter Cell with some Resident Evil horror action thrown in for good measure and spouting dialogue that is pure B-grade -- when two members of a special operations squad are told they have to go through a sewer, one of them quips: "Great. As if this mission didn't stink enough". Vampire Rain's story is promising: a rain- swept city facing infestation from a race of vampires called the Nightwalkers.
“Vampire Rain,” he continues, “would look more at home on the original Xbox than it does on the 360, as there's nothing next-gen about its graphics. The biggest problem with Vampire Rain is that the Nightwalkers are just too darn hard and too fast. Meet one, and it's good night nurse, no matter how good a covert operative you are or how many bullets you pump into them. Vampire Rain was a lesson in frustration and if you're anything like me, you'll give up on it and play something worth your time.”
