BRENDAN FRASER ON J.J. ABRAMS' "SUPERMAN"

Brandonsuperman01 While speaking to actor Brendan Fraser about Journey to the Center of the Earth 3-D and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Voices From Krypton editor Edward Gross had the opportunity to speak to actor Brendan Fraser about both films. Additionally, the conversation veered to the J.J. Abrams screenplay for "Superman," for which Fraser was offered the title role. What follows are his reflections of that experience.

Brendan is doing great stuff (most of the time); I really love "Gods & Monters", "Still Breathing", "The Quiet American",
"Bedazzled", "Blast From The Past", the "Mummy"-movies and his appearence in "Looney Tunes Back In Action".
(imo he doing an incredible amount -!- of totally different projects - from family-entertainment to action/adventure/crime-stuff.)

He seems to be a very talented and funny guy! must be a joy to work with him.

...I think Brendan would be great as CAPTAIN MARVEL (the "real" one, published by DC, aka as "Shazam!").
...and I would LOVE to see the test-footage of him as Superman/Kal-El/Clark (someday... on a re-issue of WBs "Superman"-DVDs?)

I agree. I would love to see that footage some day. By the way, I recently read that J.J. Abrams script, and I have to say I was more impressed with some of the ideas in it than I thought I would be. Still dislike the notion of Luthor being a Kryptonian, but as much as I was opposed to the idea of Krypton surviving, it works better than I thought.

I think Brendan would have made a great superman, and i agree with Brendan that Brandon Routh was great i really enjoyed "Superman Returns" on the grounds that it was like the first two superman movies and was a continuation of "Superman 1&2". I grew up with Chris Reeve as that character and a lot of the other superman actors are good, but i think that Smallville was the reason that Returns also didn't succeed, because Clark wasn't a geek and he gets the girls and people and kids today want to be cool and think that oh if superman can be popular in school and get the girls that is awesome.
But in smallville they changed way to many elements and screwed up a bit. But "Returns" went back to what the original "Superman films" were and after seeing "smallville" it's not what they wanted.
That is my opinion, But i do believe that Brendan would have been great and that Brandon Routh is good and that "Returns" is a good film, but not what people expected and wanted because of "smallville".

I really enjoyed the Book by,
Kevin J. Anderson.
"The last days of krypton."
Hey Kevin, If you're reading this,
Thank you. You did the best job
ever achieved in the Superman
Mythologies. No other story can
top what you did.
I read it twice and am definately
going to read it again.
I am so touched by your work.
If you're ever in new york,
for a signing, please let me know.
I need to get the book signed.
That would really make my life.
A TV series needs to be made
on your story. Please get to it.
Thank you so much.
