MILES MILLAR on "SMALLVILLE" (Part 2 of 3)

EXCLUSIVE: In the second-part of our conversation with Smallville's Miles Millar, we're offered some spoilers regarding the development of the show's seventh season and a discussion of how he and co-writer Al Gough would have approached a Superman theatrical film. Additionally, he previews the overall direction of the new year, looks back at the show's history and shares his feelings about Smallville's place in the Superman legacy.

Wow, because nothing makes a relationship more special then Lana Lang bouncing back and forth between Clark and Lex. Hey, who doesn't want a future Superman shacking up with Lex Luthor's wife? I know I'm swooning over that. Yes, Miles, you and Al are certainly taking fine, fine care of DC's "Crowned Jewel" here. I mean, what could be more brilliant then taking the stories of these bigger then life, iconic characters of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, and turning them into pathetic tools in the service of Lana Lang? I can just feel how much you really care about this story, and these characters.

*end of sarcasm*

Ya know, if all Miles and his partner wanted to do was write teenage love angst, and romantic triangles, then why not come up with original characters? I mean, no one is going to care if Sid, the superpowered alien, spends a ridiculous amount of time mooning over narcissistic Hana. And look Mom, no mythic character shredding.

I just don't understand why someone would do this show, and after 7 years show so little care, respect and understanding of who the main character is supposed to be.

Oh wait, sorry, I forgot, Lana Lang *is* the main character to these guys. My Bad!

And blaming Tom Welling for this stuff is ludicrous. He deserves so, so much better writing, and respect. Tom, Baby, if there is a way for you to get out of a season 8, do it! Run! Run like the wind!

This is fantastic news for the hundreds of thousands of Clana fans who have been waiting 6 years for this type of dynamic to occur. The secret dilemma has thankfully been put to rest! Now we can finally see these two get a chance at a real relationship. I'm hoping for a lot of funny moments as well as more um...intimate ones as well!hehe Can't wait to see how it all plays out! Thx Mr. Millar! :D

NO MORE LANA!!!! I THOUGHT SHE DIED!!! Smallville does not need her anymore, they are better off without her. There are more interesting things to happen than a another attempt for a "Clark and Lana" relationship...start focusing on the Lois and Clark relationship especially if this may be close to the end of the series!! Lana is BORING and needs to be left in the finale of season 6 thats it end it already!! Everyone is so sick of seeing her in the hospital and Clark having a guilt trip over what happened to her....obviously after 6 seasons and no REAL relationship between Clana then what good is it to keep pursuing this? Move on already!! Focus on Lois and Clark and their career move to the Daily Planet and their attempt in a relationship...please save the show!!

Yeah this is pretty freakin' stupid. I've been getting tired of the same old crap from this show for awhile now. Here I've been anticipating Clark moving forward toward his destiny as superman i.e. losing the farmboy clothes and dressing more adult..possibly even donning the glasses. Hell I'd settle for some more Jor-El action in the fortrice of solitude but NOOOO we've got to keep clark stuck right where he is pining after the most boring character on the show. I was really hoping we'd seen the last of Lana. This really sucks..Miles..Al..the point of telling a story is that it has a fluid sense of moving forward..not whining around the same damn point over and over till it stinks like a dead fish.

Thank you for completely ruining my birthday.
You know I ahve spent a lot of my time getting people to tune into your show. I have tried to convince them that you care about ALL your fans and how they feel. I am extremely disappointed that you have decided to go in the same circles that you have been for six years.
I know i am not the only one who feels this way. So i hope you are happy when the millionth resurrection of Clana occurs because that's how much you will lose in the ratings!

How disappointing that another season of Clana is being written. I also thought that this would be Clark's breakout season, taking a step further to stand on his own two feet, to come a little closer to wearing the unflattering blue tights and red cape.

I have nothing against KK, but the character of Lana has been written as such a schitzo over the last 6 seasons that I just can't find it in me to cheer for her in the least. Lana's had more personalities than Sybil, thank you writting staff of SV. She's gone from town princess, to caring girlfriend, and let's not forget Parisian sophisticated Lana. Then there's angry, I've had enough of you, Lana. Hmm, oh and wishy washy Lana, then rebound Lana, devious Lana. She's worn more hats than Barbie. I understand a character has to grow over the course of a series, but the writing staff didn't even ease the character into these changes. Everything happened so fast and it just made it feel like Lana is bipolar.

Hopefully there won't be too many episodes dealing with the pairing in detail, and I can focus on the growth of Clark's character to becoming the man he's destined to be. It's the only thing that will get me through what might be the last season. :o(
