EXCLUSIVE: In the second-part of our conversation with Smallville's Miles Millar, we're offered some spoilers regarding the development of the show's seventh season and a discussion of how he and co-writer Al Gough would have approached a Superman theatrical film. Additionally, he previews the overall direction of the new year, looks back at the show's history and shares his feelings about Smallville's place in the Superman legacy.

Thank you, Mr. Millar, for finally convincing me to turn Smallville off. After the horrible ratings sag following last season's dreadful "Promise," you think the answer is more Clana? Seriously? Surely it was evident after the ratings plummeted last year that the audience is sick to death of Clana?
I admit I'd be able to tolerate seeing Clark and Lana get back together, if it was simply so he could realize she isn't the right girl for him. But instead you make it sound as if an external force, Kara, will get between them. Because apparently Clark can't ever be allowed to grow past Lana on his own, and realize she's just not the right person for him. We know he's not going to wind up with Lana, and considering this is the last or penultimate season, it's waaaaay past time for him to move on.
But instead of seeing Clark move on, what we have to look forward to is apparently a longer, deeper exploration of the boring, dull, tedious angst that is Clark and Lana. So totally not what I wanted to see from this season, and so very, very disappointing.

Thanks Miles I love you !
A serious Clana relationship is what us Clana fans have been dreaming about since the beginning !
I wasn't sure to watch season 7 but now I'm all for it and I'm not the only one !

I'm happy that it's been confirmed that they'll finally be a serious Clana relationship! Hopefully it won't end up like it did in season 5!

I loved all the appreciation for Erica Durance. She is my favorite Lois Lane too. :)

The return of Lana and Clark is truly significant. For one, Lana is the only thread remaining between Lex and Clark. There's no arguing that the most powerful scenes between the two men last season have been about Lana in one way or another. Unintentionally, she is driving both of them towards becoming their ultimate selves.
But most importantly, the return of Lana and Clark reinforces something that I've always suspected: Smallville is not the story of Superman or Lex Luthor - it's the story of Lana and Clark. More specifically: the rise, fall and resurrection of their friendship.
Of course, Smallville charts the diverging paths of Lex and Clark. But by the end of the series, their stories will have only just begun. Lana is the heart of Smallville. Without her, the series wouldn't have its own story to tell.
Smallville (the series) and Smallville (the town) are intrinsically connected to Lana Lang. Like it or not, neither would be as interesting without her.

Clana! At last *can breathe now ;)*
Hope there will be Clana after Smallville. I mean if there will be SV movie, i hope Clana will stay (Wit TW and KK).
I love Lois, she is so great but Clana is the heart for me.

Miles,
Lay down the crack pipe, buddy. You've ruined this show, do you understand that? Perhaps there's another network providing entertainment that's actually worth watching. Lana Lang is the mill stone that's pulled this show to the bottom of the ocean..for 6 freakin' seasons, dude. Wake up to it while there's time. Lana is the Grim freakin' Reaper, Scary Mary and Dracula's daughter all wrapped into one scary, life sucking zombie. Miles, if you've got it that bad for Kristin, then just ask her out on a date, bud. But, create the show for the fans.

Well, I think Miles has just given me a reason to stop watching all together. I seriously will not be able to stand another round of the Clark/Lana drama. I was hoping this was going to be the season where Clark finally lets go of her and moves on, but no, they keep holding him back for some screwed up reason.
